  • Activities start at 9:30pm on Friday night and keep going until 12 noon on Sunday.
  • Having fun is a pre-requisite; as is looking after your own welfare! This means eat food, drink water & sleep!
  • New, quick check-in procedure on Friday night, (if all forms submitted) to allow for more activity time.

If your group has a trek kart, why not use it.
  • Please bear in mind that parking at Pax Hill is limited when organising what gear is going to be taken.
  • No Auto Tents, Hike Tents are preferred as campsites have a few small trees in and around them.
  • Steel Tent Pegs are suggested for Pax Hill, as the ground is could be hard.

  • There will be areas marked out where the light towers will be placed for the weekend. These areas are out of bounds for all, except our Works and Services personnel. These light towers are put in place to make it safe for all attending the weekend. Please take this into account when selecting a camp site. The light towers are not to be touched, or altered in anyway. The light towers will be running during the night - they are noisy!!!

Public Transport

Another travel option of how you can get to VG this year is to get there on the Train. Pax Hill is one of a couple of sites that VG is held at where you can catch the train to and from VG.

We will be providing a shuttle bus service from Ballarat Train Station to the campsite. This will be there as close to the train's arrival time, and depending on numbers, you will be able to hop on the bus for a small cost. The bus will take you to Pax Hill on the Friday night, and then if you are catching the train home again on the Sunday, we will endeavour (depending on numbers) to have you back in time for the train to depart from Ballarat for the trip back to Melbourne etc.

Details of coach or train timetables to Ballarat can be found at www.vline.com.au.

To assist us to get you from the station to the campsite on the Friday, and then back again on the Sunday please either follow the prompts online when you apply, send an email to Donna at enquiries@vicgatherning.com or return the Public Transport Form to let us know when you will be arriving and how many of you there will be and also when your train is leaving on the Sunday. We will need to know this by the 30th November.

Please also fill in the Sunday Afternoon part if you are catching the train/coach up on the Friday night, and have some/all of your Unit travelling by car home on the Sunday, just so we can make sure that we don't forget anybody.

Badges & Pennants

We have a number of VG badges and pennants from the past few years available for sale.
